Autumn Musings October 20th 2010

Since my last entry the summer has come and gone. What a summer it has been.
Our Celebration year will soon be over and it seems to have flown by. Hard to imagine that when Bournemouth was taking it's first tentative steps as a town King George III was on the throne, Queen Victoria, Charles Dickens and Tchaikovsky had not yet been born, and Chopin was born in the same year. What a difference that makes to one's thoughts of the Town.
Unfortunately the Air Festival was washed out, which was a great shame for the many thousands of people that came to see it from all over the country, but there have been many other attractions to enjoy. Our own small village fete was also washed out, but we are undaunted and we will have it next year on Saturday August 13th.
